Representative

The member of local council, the representative is elected by inhabitants with universal, equal, direct, secret vote, and has right to decide about local government matters as the representative of inhabitants. Their duty is to do their job sincerely by conscience and public good must come first. The term is 4 years and fixed number of Gangbuk district representatives is 14.

Chairman & vice chairman

One chairman and one vice chairman are elected from representatives by secret vote, and the term is 2 years. The chairman represents and directs council. Vice chairman takes chairman's part in the time of accident.

Committee

It is counterpart of executive organ. The standing committee deliberates bills and petition. The special committee deliberates special bills and agendas. In Gangbuk district council, there are 3 standing committee and the special committee could be established in case of needs by vote of main meeting.
